“If the path before you is clear, you’re probably on someone else’s.”

Services I offer

Over the years, I’ve developed a variety of approaches to help you navigate your healing journey. I will work with you to help you decide which direction you want to go. I see my approach as grounded in science and traditional approaches, but not so overly rigid that we can’t color outside the lines occasionally.

  • My aim here is to recommend medications in a way that helps you fully participate in life. I can go on a whole soapbox about medication, but it’s important to know that balance is key. I collaborate with my patients to decide what the right amount of “symptom coverage” is and how we can incorporate other modalities to minimize the pesky parts about taking pharmaceuticals.

  • I use this long-term psychotherapy used to address deeply-rooted ways of being in the world that block us from our sense of well-being and happiness. People usually see me once weekly or every other week.

  • I use herbs and supplements to support someone’s medication regimen or as a standalone treatment for mental health symptoms. This can be really helpful for people who have a hard time tolerating regular psychiatric medications.

  • I use ketamine to help facilitate and deepen the therapeutic process. As a doctor, I can administer ketamine in ways that other therapists can’t. This includes IV (intravenously), IM (intramuscularly), and SQ (subcutaneously). People generally do between 1-8 sessions of ketamine therapy, depending on what is causing their distress.

  • I’m currently offering psilocybin therapy services as a licensed facilitator in training at Reflective Healing in Fort Collins, CO. I am very thoughtful about who I work with when it comes to this medicine. If you are not an established patient in my practice, I will connect with you before making the big commitment of making an appointment with me. You can start by filling out the contact form linked on my contact page.

KETAMINE THERAPY

Ketamine therapy involves the use of ketamine to simultaneously improve mental health symptoms and deepen the therapeutic process. It can be a very useful tool for people who feel stuck in regular therapy.

Ketamine is a type of medication that was originally created to be used in surgical procedures as an anesthetic. Along the way, it was discovered that it can create psychedelic effects if it is used at lower doses than what’s used for anesthesia.

There’s a growing body research showing that ketamine can be used to improve a variety of mental health disorders, but it’s not for everyone. Before jumping into this work, it’s important that you undergo a comprehensive assessment to make sure that you are safe to receive the medicine.

But it’s not just about the medicine! Preparation, the proper setting and support for the journey, and integration of the medicine experience is all part of the healing experience. Working with me for ketamine therapy means that you will be held in a way that supports this process.

Psilocybin Therapy

Similar to ketamine therapy, psilocybin can be used (legally in Colorado) to help individuals navigate therapeutic impasses. However, there are some more rules attached to this approach. For starters, these sessions need to be done at a licensed healing center, and the person seeking these services must be 21 or older.

There is also more oversight and training for the facilitators of these services. Currently, I have completed my didactic and practicum training in psilocybin facilitation. I am now a licensed facilitator in training, which means I operate psilocybin sessions independently and seek ongoing consultation outside of the sessions.

I conduct these sessions at a licensed healing center in Fort Collins, CO, called Reflective Healing.

“One advantage of working with me is that, as a medical doctor, I feel more comfortable working with people who have complicated medical and psychiatric issues.”

Outside of the legal rigor, it’s very important that psilocybin services are conducted with a keen eye toward every facet of your safety. This includes having adequate screening, preparation and integration of your experience.

One advantage of working with me is that, as a medical doctor, I feel more comfortable working with people who have complicated medical and psychiatric issues. For certain unstable conditions, like severe kidney or liver disease, we may still need to get the blessing of your specialist before we move forward, as is stated in the Colorado law.

Last but not least, I want to make sure that we are a good fit! The first step to this is to reach out using my Simple Practice Contact Form on my Contact page.
