About me:
I’m a board certified psychiatrist who went on a pretty adventurous journey to get where I am today. While in medical school, I developed a chronic illness that couldn’t be treated with the Western medical approach. Instead, I found benefit through alternative medicine. This first-hand experience of being sick taught me how to BE with my patients. It also opened me to the depth and mystery of healing that occurs outside of the material world. I love psychiatry because it allows me to appreciate the depth and mystery of every individual I work with. It also lends itself to flexibility of approach, from the hard science of neurochemistry, to addressing the ethereal matters of the spirit. My favorite approach (with or without psychedelic medicine) is psychotherapy. When I’m not at my office, you may find me in the wild looking at birds, dancing at a concert, or lost in thought.
My Ethos:
Healing is a creative act involving relationship. This could be the relationship you have with your body, with others, or even with yourself. Notice though, that you are the hub in the wheel of these relationships, and for that reason, you are a necessary part of your healing! I firmly believe in your innate capacity to heal yourself.
I see my role as a guide who points out what is getting in the way of you being able to establish healthy relationships, and I offer tools to help you restore and mend these connections. Hop over to Services to find out how I might do that.
